Ready to rumble and make an impact! 20 of our Ciphians have been training for the one and only Rotterdam Marathon with a special goal! This year, our passion for innovation and technology is taking a dedicated step towards helping develop VR-based therapy for children. Did you know that nearly 14% of children in the Netherlands are associated with some form of therapy before their 18th birthday? That's almost half a million children! 

And this is where you come in! Via the donation button, you can show your support by donating towards our goal of €5,000. Whatever the amount, every euro is a step closer to our goal. 

In support of Emeritus Professor Elizabeth Utens' pioneering research we want to help collect funds to develop VR-therapy for children with selective mutism. Selective mutism stems from anxiety disorders, by which children no longer speak (in certain settings). For example, a child speaks at home, but doesnt speak at school. This affects all areas of their lives, which has a knock-on effect in regards to their development and learning. 

Through Virtual Reality (VR)-therapy, children can undergo exposure therapy and overcome these situations to eventually regain their ability to speak. What makes VR such a great tool is the complete customisability in such that you can virtually create any situation by which a child can practise and overcome their fears. A beautiful initiative in which we want to make a difference!
